Laura Lusuardi

Laura Lusuardi was born in Guastalla, in the province of Reggio Emilia. In 1964, she joined the team of designers at Max Mara, eventually becoming the stylistic coordinator for the group’s collections. Her discretion, tenacity, and deep knowledge of products have made her a legendary figure in the everchanging world of fashion.

“I have been doing this job for many years, and in reality, I can say that I grew up alongside Max Mara. If there is something I can be proud of, it is the fact that I know our customers perfectly—I have a clear image of what the market needs.”

She has extensive expertise in fabrics and materials, as well as in the latest industrial production techniques. She takes nothing for granted and expects a lot from both herself and her collaborators. Always present at every major fashion event, she divides her time between fabric fairs in Como and Florence, runway shows in Paris and New York, and, of course, the Milanese catwalks during the women’s prêt-à-porter collections.
